Home › House plans › 20×30 south-facing
A south-facing plot is perfectly buildable — it only needs the plan to do what the land does not: keep the north and east open on the inside.
Opens the planner with the plot filled in. It designs Vastu-aligned floor plans, shows the house in 2D and 3D, and estimates the cost.
The main door goes in the south wall's auspicious middle portion, towards the south-east half — not in the south-west corner. Hold the south-west heavy (master bedroom, staircase) and open the north and east with windows, a courtyard or a larger rear setback there.
North is up. The road side is marked; the room in each zone is the one Vastu places there first.

Keep the centre of the house — the Brahmasthan — open: a hall, a courtyard or a skylight, never a column, a toilet or a staircase.
With indicative setbacks of 6 ft in front, 3 ft at the rear and none at the sides (common on narrow plots), the house can be about 20 × 21 ft — 420 sq ft a floor. That is a comfortable 1 BHK on the ground floor; with a first floor, a 1 BHK with a staircase in the south or west. Setbacks, floor area ratio and height limits come from your local development authority or municipality — check them before you build.
The south front yard is for parking and a paved forecourt; keep lawn and water in the north and north-east rear, and plant tall along the south and west. Vastu keeps the north and east low and open — lawn, a tulsi plant near the door, water in the north-east — and puts weight in the south and west: palms or tall trees along that boundary, the overhead tank in the south-west. Fire belongs in the south-east: a fire pit or the outdoor kitchen. Vaastukriti's 3D view lays this garden out for you from the plot and the setbacks.

With typical setbacks the buildable footprint is about 420 sq ft per floor — roughly a 1 BHK on the ground floor, or a 1 BHK across ground and first floor. Your city's bye-laws decide the exact setbacks.
In the south-east (Agni), with the cook facing east; the north-west is the accepted alternative. Never in the north-east.
